Kit and Construction
You remember your early modelling days as a teenager ? If yes, there is a great chance that it started with some Warhammer 40k figures ... am I right ? As you figured out, it was the case for me and painting figures (I never played them on battles and know nothing about the game) was a big part of my hobby. And I think that there is really something special with figures compared to planes or vehicles.
Whatever the universe you like (SF, warhammer, historic, ...), figures share something different. A feeling, a story, an action and this is something really interesting about it I think. But even after dozens of them painted in the past, when you come back to it the same struggles hit back : painting flesh for example !!
Anyway, here is an attempt at coming back to figures painting. It is a plastic injected kit from Tamiya in a 120mm scale. Subject is a US infantry man in desert storm uniform firing a M16 assault rifle. Some flesh to paint but mainly a two tone camouflage, desert storm on clothes and woodland jungle on accessories and protective vest. Let's see how it goes ...
