Kit and Construction

There is A LOT of french fighter jets and planes, many of them very interesting. But amongst all, all mirages are amongst my favorites planes of all time. When I came back to the hobby, I only knew of 1/72 and 1/48 scale kits available in various brands like Modelsvit, Italeri or Heller of course. But when I discovered the available 1/32 editions from Italeri and Kitty hawk, what a shock !

First shock came with the availability for the 2000s : sadly, Kittyhawk kits where no longer available as the brand disappeared. Too expensive on the second hand market. I waited, waited ... and one day had the great surprise to see both kits newly manufactured by ZIMI MODELS which bought kittyhawk moulds. Lucky me !

I ordered three kits in a row, one for a 2000c and two for the 2000 two seater variant. Three ?! So here is the idea ...

This kit is dedicated to an "in flight" representation of a Mirage 2000n in a special livery not available in the box or as aftermarket decals. It is a Lafayette commemorative livery, used on a 2000n model for the 100th anniversary of this squadron.

The two other kits will be built later, grounded with opened canopies, and some Reskit aftermarket parts mainly fully detailed cockpits. But this is another story ...
