I grew up in a french town located near the city of TOURS, center of France, in the heart of a region with lots of medieval or renaissance castles. But another attraction during many decades was the presence of the BA705, a military base n° 705 mostly dedicated to the training of new french fighter pilots. And this is where the idea for this projects comes from.

When moving from prop driven airplanes to jets, trainees were assigned to BA705 and continue their trainings on DO Alphajets. It was a long step of their training before moving to dedicated squadrons with for example Mirages.

The purpose of this small project is to depict both sides of the life of a fighter pilot with a link to this military base I knew as a kid : Display a combo of alphajets, one landed with opened canopy and one in flight over it.

The landed one will depict the start of a fighter pilot career and the flying one will showcase the possible pinacle of his career with a "Patrouille de France" scheme. La "PAF" as it is commonly called here in France is the main acrobatic display team of the french air force.

I hope you find the idea interesting and it is a great opportunity to display a great aircraft that has been onw retired from the service (except for the PAF use on displays).
