Kit and Construction

I did my best to source all those kits over a few years as lots of them are discontinued items. 5 or 6 from Hasegawa are brand new but some were very hard to get for a decent price. At the very beginning, it just started with the wish to build a few kits I dreamed of back when I was a kid. The REPSOL Doohan NSR for example and my all favorite the Gardner Rothmans NSR were found first.

After around 7 kits built, I was willing to watch those bikes more often and tried to find a way to display them in a nice way. The idea of a hand built display case to showcase them on the wall of my home office was realized during 2023.

All those kits were absolutely fantastic to build, especially the Tamiya ones, even if after 15 kits tasks became seemingly repetitive. The Hasegawa ones are very highly detailed and a bit trickier compared to the Tamiya. Very very happy with the result and this display case is now installed on top of my dedicated model kit bench.

There is just one thing missing with this project : the smell and smoke of 2 stroke engines running at thigh RPM on a track straight line ... !
